For our client in the automotive industry we are looking for a Plant Manager Malaysia
Objective of the Position
- Responsible for overall plant business activities including manufacturing operations, finance, logistics, maintenance etc.
- Working closely with BU Asia support functions such as Product Engineering, Program Management, ME, Supply-chain and ensure all best practices are implemented timely.
- Ensuring all site controls are in place in terms of Health & Safety, Environment & Quality within the operations.
Accountabilities
- Overall in charge of the plant including plant P&L, production, program, ME, logistics, etc.
- Provides leadership and set standards for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP) performance in the area of production, periodically review reports on department performance and key business indicators.
- Responsible for budgeting and investment for the production-related activities.
- Improve the efficiency of the plant operation and maximize the profitability, generate good cash flow.
- Manage the systems including inventory control, import & export of products to ensure the best utilization of the inventory to support sales in Asia.
- Establish a plan to implement and maintain the Quality Basics principles throughout the plant.
- Train and manage the people in plant ensuring they are able to do a qualified job.
- Continually seek improved methods with a view to reduce costs, improve service level (customer satisfaction) and reduce operational risk.
- Ensure employees safety, respect for the environment and security of the plant.
- Ensure compliance to all customer Legal & Ethical Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Participate in out of hours meetings to suit EU and NA time zones.
- Optimize direct, in-direct and salary headcount based on benchmarking with other Asia sites.
Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
- Bachelor degree or above majoring in Manufacturing or Engineering, Business Administration
- 10 years plus working experience in automotive components manufacturing enterprises, with five years demonstrated experience in a similar supervisory/ managerial position.
- Proven ability to manage, supervise and provide leadership, including experience with performance management processes.
- Good understanding and implementation of Quality Systems (VDA 6/TS16949) including Environmental standards (ISO14000/OHSAS18000).
- In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing system and demonstrated commitment to the Continuous Improvements Process (CIP).
- Knowledge and skills in budgeting and expenses control
